This caviar comes from the Kaluga sturgeon (Huso Dauricus), also known as the "river beluga", which originates from the Amur River in northern China.
Like its relative, the beluga, it is considered one of the finest and most sought-after caviars due to its rich and complex flavour.
The taste of Pure Kaluga caviar is buttery with nutty hints. It has large, shiny, amber-coloured grains and an incomparably creamy texture.
The Kaluga (Huso Dauricus), often called river beluga, differs from other species mainly by its enormous size.
However, it is not only a large fish, but can also produce large quantities of eggs. An adult female Kaluga can produce up to 20 kg of caviar.
This makes Kaluga caviar a perfect caviar for people who love the texture of firm, well-formed pearls.
