Combining tradition and modernity with the highest culinary quality is the declared goal of the Balik manufactory.
With the Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj No. 1, Balik presents you with the true masterpiece of the smokehouse. The strict selection of Salmo Salar from the ice-cold waters of the fjords of northern Norway is the basis for this exceptional quality.
The water used is also an important element in the production of Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj NO 1. It is exceptionally pure, comes from our own springs and is particularly rich in minerals. Our salmon is gently finished with a premium salt and carefully smoked over logs that have been dried and stored for at least 10 years.
The first smoker, designed by the founder of Balik Farm in 1978 together with Israel Kaplan, the grandson of Tsar Nikolai II's last master smoker, has gone down in history. Its design is based exactly on the architectural style of the smokehouses of the great Russia of yesteryear.
The smokehouse is built in such a way that every salmon fillet is continuously exposed in the same way to the delicate and fine blue smoke, the composition and temperature of which is also a secret. Our master smokers are always full of passion to give the best for "their" product.
Such a gem deserves a packaging worthy of it. A representative casket that safely holds and protects this treasure, thus maintaining and even increasing its value. In keeping with our philosophy, this fillet rightly bears the surname: "NO 1". This delicacy is only offered in limited quantities.
The Balik Fillet Tsar Nikolaj No.1 is the perfect harmony of salmon, smoke and salt, has a full-bodied taste and a colour ranging from old pink to medium red.
